Unconsciously

I keep having dreams
Where people I assume would not be,
Are happy to see me.

All is forgotten, blame dissolved
Our existence in one another’s life, at some point,
Is all that’s worth remembering.

Only in a dream, though.
The waking world is ruled by bitterness, righteousness and memory
Pride and point of view skewing judgment,
Forgiveness
Instinct.

Even when it comes to forgiving ourselves
Making room to let it be okay
That we smiled in a dream when everything was fine.
